Umeboshi are delicious salty pickled plums originating from China over 3000 years ago. Made in the traditional syle these plums have been soaked in salt baths and then sun dried with Shiso leaves added during the pickling process. The healthful properties of Ume has been recognised for centuries. Ume impart a tart flavour and can be eaten alone or added to all styles of cooking.
